Niels Erik Jakobsen, Chairman
Niels Erik Jakobsen is a Managing Director of Group Management with Jyske Bank. He has been with Jyske Bank since 1987 and within the Jyske Bank Group he has taken positions as Senior Analyst in the Economic Research Department, Head of Treasure Management and Economic Research Department, Head of the Treasury and Risk Management Division and Director, Treasure, Finance and Risk Management. Since September 2009 he has been Managing Director of Group Management. Jakobsen holds a MSc in Economics & Business Administration (Finance as area of specialization). Jakobsen became chairman of the JGAM Board of Directors in September 2009.
Niels Walther-Rasmussen, Deputy Chairman
Niels Walther-Rasmussen admitted as lawyer in 1981. He has been a member of the New York Bar since 1985 and has had Right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court since 1987. His primary fields of expertise are commerce and company law, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance law, securities law and life science. He advises a broad range of Danish and international clients in the industrial, financial and public sectors on commercial and legal matters, primarily relating to above practice areas and fields of expertise. He has a Master of Laws degree from the University of Copenhagen (1978) and an M.C.J. from New York University (1985); in 1985-86 he was employed with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrisson, New York. He is a lecturer and author of numerous professional articles and books, primarily at an international level. Walther-Rasmussen joined Kromann Reumert in 1978 and became partner in 1986. Kromann Reumert is a leading law firm in Denmark with offices in Copenhagen, London and Brussels. Walther-Rasmussen has been Deputy Chairman of the JGAM Board of Directors since 2008.
Stephen Brugger, Director
Stephen Brugger is the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Denmark (AmCham Denmark) and also serves as the Chairman of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce (ECACC), an organization comprised of AmChams in 40 nations across Europe and Eurasia. He grew up near San Francisco, California, and earned his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1983. Brugger first came to Denmark as an exchange student in 1981, and returned in 1984 to work for the architecture firm of Friis & Moltke. From 1991 to 1998 he was a partner with Brugger & Nielsen, a multidisciplinary architecture and design firm with offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen. Brugger has been a member of the JGAM Board of Directors since 2008.
