Instrument category

What is an instrument category?

Instrument category is the term used by JGAM in its classification of financial instruments.

You can apply for re-categorization within a certain instrument category or for all of the categories. Under "re-categorization" and in our General Business Conditions, you can read which criteria must be met to apply for re-categorization.

JGAM has decided to divide financial instruments into two groups, one which includes available instruments on which JGAM provides investment advice, and another group which includes instruments on which JGAM does not provide investment advice.

1. Available instruments

2. Non-available instruments

  • Structured products
  • Certificates
  • Non-UCITS
  • Futures
  • Forward contracts
  • Option
  • Swaps
  • Hedge funds
  • Mortgage deeds
  • Derivatives
  • Forward Rate Agreements

Note that the above list shows examples and is not exhaustive.
